Description:
Stop by and visit the Lotus Education and Arts Foundation (Lotus) booth at this annual Labor Day Weekend art show. Get details about the upcoming 26th annual Lotus World Music and Arts Festival and learn about Lotus's volunteer opportunities, the 2019 artist lineup and events, ticket information, and more! Lotus is also the featured craft activity with their 2019 Visual Arts Project: “A Light in the Dark” Luminaria and Lantern Traditions of the Southwest Border Regions and Beyond. Come and make-n-take Lotus luminary! A luminary is lantern consisting of a a light source (LEDs or candles) set in a small paper bag weighted with sand and typically placed with others along a driveway, sidewalk, or rooftop as a holiday decoration. A Luminaria installation is planned in the Arts Village (free!) during the 26th Lotus World Music & Arts Festival (Sept. 26-29, 2019). This hands-on activity promises free hands-on fun for both families and individuals.

Lotus has taken part in the Fourth Street Festival event for the last 26 years, since the organization’s inception. This event is organized by local artists and hosts over 120 artisans from across the country who offer their work to the public. The Fourth Street Festival of the Arts & Crafts began in 1977 and offers an exciting legacy of the arts, alongside Lotus, in Bloomington.
